Classic Soccer
Classic soccer is the highest level of competition within NCYSA, and we are home to more than 85 Classic teams. Typically, Classic teams begin their season in August and end with try-outs for the next year in May. Dan Popik, our Director of Classic oversees the program with help from Age Group Directors and Head Registrar Jean Hogshead.

Try-outs
Try-out registration for Fall 2017 is now closed. All interested players/families must create an account (in the parent/guardian's name) in order to register for 2017-2018 try-outs.
Learn more
All players interested playing in our Classic program must attend our annual try-outs in May. Players unable to participate in May try-outs (due to relocation to Raleigh, injury, etc.) may request a supplemental try-out by contacting the appropriate age group director. We strongly encourage all players to attend our annual try-outs in May if at all possible, as that will give players the best opportunity to be seen and evaluated by our coaches.
Classic regional teams are based on players' birth year and region in which they live:
North: North/East of Hwy 70 (typically most of Raleigh & Wake Forest)
South: South/West of Hwy 70 (typically Cary, Apex & Morrisville)
DCH: Durham & Chapel Hill areas
HSFV: Holly Springs & Fuquay Varina areas
Within each region, players are placed on teams based on skill level, ability, and attitude.
There is NO GUARANTEE of playing time in Classic Soccer. Playing time is based on ability and merit.
All Classic teams will follow and abide by the Classic Guidelines as established by NCFC's Director of Soccer. The teams will operate within NCFC's Bylaws and consist of a Head Coach, Team Manager, and a Team Treasurer. Assistant coaches will be contracted as deemed appropriate by NCFC's Director of Soccer.
