Community Outreach

• Youth with intellectual and physical disabilities will continue to have the opportunity to play soccer through NCFC’s TOPSoccer program

• NCFC’s annual Friendship Cup will be hosted in June to provide a single-day tournament for youth from community organizations at no cost to them.

• NCFC partnered with WakeMed Health and Hospitals to promote health both on and off the field. Through the NCFC & WakeMed Healthy Families campaign, players and their families are given resources on injury prevention, nutrition, and hydration. 

Coaching education, retention of quality staff, and recruitment of new coaches

• Free coaching education courses have been offered to Recreational and Challenge level coaches since Spring 2015. 

• Previous Recreation Director, Brett Malone, hosted the first ever Recreational Volunteer Coaching license course on August 8, 2015. More than 200 volunteer coaches attended the free course to be "NCFC certified" and to enhance their knowledge about coaching. The courses have grown in popularity and provide a great learning experience for coaches.

Improvements to WRAL Soccer Center

• NCFC has made significant investments in upgrades to the 21 field complex including removal of trees (to be replaced by more trees that cast shade), turf planning to offer better playing surfaces, over-seeding of fields, the addition of two new turf fields, and removal of debris from the surrounding woods. 
• NCFC maintains many outlying facilities and fields, ensuring the safety and field quality for our players. 
• NCFC has currently completed a $3.8 million renovation project to WRAL Soccer Park. Highlights of the renovation include paved parking and roadways, better irrigation, satellite restrooms/shelters, updated grass and turf surfaces, and much more!
